Two words explain why it works:
engagement and immersion.
Speak Feel Grow isn’t a collection of teaching tricks. It’s a method built by a clinical psychologist on what behavioral science — and Cambridge — say about how the brain actually learns a language. Here’s exactly how it works, and why it works when other approaches haven’t.
The Core Idea
Most language teaching treats a language as a subject: memorize the rules, drill the vocabulary, and take the test. The problem is that your brain treats that kind of information the way it treats anything it doesn’t consider meaningful; it stores it briefly and then lets it go. That’s why so many people study for years and still can’t speak.
We use English as a tool to say what you actually mean through content that genuinely interests you. That single shift changes which part of your brain does the learning.
ENGAGEMENT
An activity of real interest puts you in a state of flow and flips on the part of the brain responsible for lifelong learning.
IMMERSION
Learning the language through content that’s genuinely relevant to your life, so you can hold and understand a real conversation, not recite from a book.
The science underneath
According to behavioral science (and a 2022 study by Cambridge), recognized worldwide as a top authority on language learning, the most effective way to learn a language is through immersion: exposure and engagement. Recent research goes as far as to say that textbooks and the traditional method are obsolete.
When you engage with topics that genuinely interest you, four regions of the brain activate together, the regions responsible for focus, motivation, emotion, and long-term memory. Working in concert, they make you dramatically more receptive to new information.

The old way vs. Speak Feel Grow
The takeaway is simple: interest is the switch that turns lasting learning on. Speak the language through what you care about, and it stays with you. And there’s a bonus, the more you open up to reflect on your own experiences, positive or negative, the better you handle life’s challenges and the more your well-being improves. You grow as you learn!

How It Works for Adults
Adult sessions follow the Star Methodology: A repeatable structure that keeps you speaking while corrections happen live, without ever putting you on the spot. In short:
- You speak about your real life and interests; grammar, fluency, and pronunciation surface naturally.
- Claudia transcribes the correct version in the Zoom chat as you go; you’re never interrupted.
- She reads it aloud so you hear it; you read it back and repeat.
- A breathing reset and an honest “how do you feel?” (no answering “good”) builds vocabulary and calm at once.
- Positive-psychology content drives the conversation; grammar rules appear on the whiteboard only when they’ll help.
- You leave with editable homework, and corrections continue in a WhatsApp group between sessions.
Need English for a specific goal? An interview, a meeting, a legal case? Business English and specialized sessions are tailored around the exact vocabulary of your real-world context, kept intensive, and kept engaging.
How It Works for Children
For kids, the mood is set from the first minute: fun music, snacks, and a comfortable space, online or in person. The same Star Methodology applies, with difficulty scaled to age, but it looks like play:
- Warm-up conversation: They draw their favorite and least-favorite moment of the week, then answer the question words (who, what, when, where, why, how) to build detail; a natural opening for socioemotional growth.
- Playful grammar: Grammar appears through games, iPads, colors, and scavenger hunts around the house, online, or in person.
- Reading & listening: Age-appropriate books with images and subtitles, paused often for questions and points; new vocabulary goes into a special notebook and gets revisited.
- Simon Says: A movement-based game for kids; the mood is set from the first minute with lively music, snacks, and a comfortable space, online or in person. The same Star Methodology applies, with difficulty scaled to age, but it looks like they played an instruction game (their favorite part) that builds listening comprehension and vocabulary while they run, laugh, and earn points.
- Socioemotional bonuses: Recurring prompts like “Why are you proud of yourself this week?” or “How did you help someone?” build confidence alongside language.
Children see it as the best part of their day, not another English class. That’s exactly why it works, and why it lasts.
How often should I book?
Once a week for individual sessions. Groups of two or more can meet once or twice a week.
What do I need for online sessions?
Just a device and internet. Most sessions are over Zoom. Claudia sends the link by WhatsApp or email before your session.
Can I focus on something specific?
Yes. If you have a particular topic, interview, or need, let Claudia know at least 24 hours ahead, and the session will be tailored to work on it.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes, for children and workshops in the The Woodlands / Shenandoah, TX area.
Everything else is online, worldwide.
What ages do you teach?
From 6 years old through adults.
Tutoring in English, Math, and Science covers grades 1–9; high-school students are welcome in the adult sessions.
How soon will you see a difference?
It varies from person to person; It depends on your starting level and how well the method fits how you learn, which is exactly why the first session is free. That said, based on experience with basic-to-intermediate learners, most people notice more comfort speaking and listening within the first two or three sessions.
Beyond english
The same engagement-based method extends to tutoring in English, Math, and Science for grades 1–9 — including test prep and school support, in English or Spanish. Students bring their material ahead of time so each session is an intensive, game-based, reflective deep-dive into exactly what they need. Same foundation: learning through engagement.
Why this method, and not another
It's built by a psychologist, not adapted from a textbook.
A degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a diploma in Positive Psychology, plus a thesis on how psychology impacts language learning, sits behind every session. This approach is a method designed around the mind, not around a curriculum.
Essential grammar isn't skipped; it's repositioned.
You learn all the grammar rules that matter. The difference is you learn them in a way that puts them straight into real conversation and everyday life, so they actually stick instead of fading after the test.
Workshops for teams & groups
We also offer workshops in person or over Zoom on positive-psychology topics like burnout, better habits for performance, team building, and effective communication.
They can be delivered in English (to build the language) or in Spanish, informational or hands-on. Ask about our workshop options.
